Long's Locks is a family-owned locksmith service founded by Lee Long, proudly serving London and Kent. We specialize in lock picking, fitting, key holding, mobile key cutting, and alarm response. Our mission is to ensure the safety and security of your property with honest pricing and reliable service. Quick care kit
At Long’s Locks, we go beyond providing first-class locksmith services by ensuring the comfort and safety of our customers during every callout. Each of our vehicles is equipped with a Quick Care Kit, designed to offer reassurance in cases of extreme weather or unforeseen circumstances. These kits include blankets, a flask of tea or coffee, snacks, bottled water, a first aid kit, high-visibility coat, gloves, and a woolly hat—essentials to help keep clients warm, safe, and cared for while assistance is being provided. This initiative was introduced by our company director, Lee Long, who recognises that the unexpected can strike at any time and believes that customer care should extend well beyond the lock itself.

Terms & Conditions
1. Estimates
1. All estimates provided by Long’s Locks LTD are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated.
2. Estimates are based on the information supplied at the time. Any additional work, unforeseen complications, or changes requested by the client will be charged accordingly.
3. All prices are quoted exclusive of VAT unless otherwise specified.

2. Booking & Deposits
1. A £65 non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking.
2. The deposit will be deducted from the final invoice total.
3. Jobs are not confirmed until the deposit has been received.

3. Labour Rates & Mileage
1. Standard labour rate: £65 per hour (applicable between 6:00am – 6:00pm).
2. Evening rate: £130 per hour (applicable between 6:00pm – 10:00pm).
3. Night rate: £150 per hour (applicable between 10:00pm – 6:00am).
4. Labour time is charged from arrival on site until completion of work, including any time spent obtaining materials where necessary.
5. Mileage is calculated at £0.45–£0.50 per mile (standard for self-employed trades, matches HMRC allowance).

• 10–25 miles = +£20
• 25–50 miles = +£30–£40

4. Payment Terms
1. All invoices must be paid in full upon completion of the work.
Payment is required immediately once the job has been completed, unless otherwise agreed in writing prior to commencement.
2. All products and materials remain the property of Long’s Locks LTD until payment has been received in full.
3. Payment can be made by cash, bank transfer, or approved card payment directly to Long’s Locks LTD upon completion.
4. Failure to make full payment upon completion may result in removal of installed materials, additional charges, and/or recovery action at the customer’s expense.
5. Long’s Locks LTD reserves the right to withhold keys, lock codes, or materials until full payment is received.

5. Cancellations
1. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the agreed appointment time may result in loss of deposit.
2. In the event of a missed appointment where our technician cannot gain access or the customer is unavailable, the minimum labour charge will still apply.

6. Parts & Materials
1. Any parts supplied and fitted by Long’s Locks LTD are covered by a 12-month manufacturer’s warranty unless otherwise stated.
2. The warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse, forced entry, or tampering after installation.
3. Parts supplied by the customer are not covered under any warranty, and Long’s Locks LTD accepts no responsibility for defects or failures related to them.

7. Liability
1. Long’s Locks LTD will take all reasonable care while carrying out work, but we accept no responsibility for pre-existing damage to locks, doors, or mechanisms.
2. Where entry is required due to lost keys or lockouts, methods of entry may result in damage to locks, doors, or frames. Such damage is not covered by Long’s Locks LTD, and repair/replacement costs remain the responsibility of the customer.
3. Long’s Locks LTD shall not be held liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from delay, failure, or work carried out.

8. Force Majeure
Long’s Locks LTD shall not be liable for delays or failure to perform obligations due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to weather, accidents, illness, or supplier delays.

9. Acceptance of Terms
By accepting an estimate, paying a deposit, or allowing work to commence, the client acknowledges and agrees to these Terms & Conditions in full.
